Mournful occurence in London today. I am speechless beyond acknowledgement.
I imagine this has something to do with the British beginning to set a timeline for withdrawal from Iraq. To keep the temperature high. What a bad thing this all is.

Oh god, no. I'm just saying that seemed to me the reason aq might do such a thing. To keep the fight going, since what is going on in Iraq is working to their aims, from what I understand. Draining Britain while strengthening their cause. And strengthening their cause among potential recruits.
I could be 100% off. Just my sense, from watching. Maybe it is the G8 that is the proximate 'cause'. Who knows. Such a strange calculus. Where the zealots on both sides seem to be, in a way, against the middle.
